Professional Generator Services & Installations

While the loss of power is nothing more than a tolerated inconvenience for many property owners, it can be extremely detrimental to others – especially if power outages persist for hours or even days. That’s where a commercial generator or a standby generator for your home can come in handy, as it’s able to provide efficient, automatic power in the event that you lose the power that you need to keep your business running or your house on track. It can keep your heating and cooling systems in use, your Internet online and offer peace of mind that your home or business won’t be in the dark when electricity is a necessity.

Benefits of a Standby Generator

Some of the key benefits of having a standby generator installed on your property in Tx or NC include:

Peace of mind that you'll always have power, even during an emergency. Whether it's a hurricane, flood, tornado, ice storm, or severe weather event, residential generators keep the power on.

A commercial generator can increase the value of your property and also provide insurance discounts.

Generators prevent voltage fluctuations that could damage appliances when power returns.

Generators are efficient and turn on automatically when the property's primary power source goes down.

Generators are theft deterrents

Generator Financing Options

We also offer generator financing through Synchrony Financial. As the costs of a residential or commercial generator can be somewhat significant, the multiple generator financing options that we offer help consumers get the generator that’s right for their property while allowing for better management of the cost of the appliance over time. Contact us today to learn more about the generator financing options that we offer through Synchrony.

Generator Maintenance and Monitoring

Like all major household appliances, generators need maintenance too. In addition to our residential and commercial generator installation services, we also offer generator maintenance to help keep your appliance working efficiently and effectively year after year. Without proper maintenance, generators are prone to fuel issues that may include algae buildup, clogged injectors and even dead batteries. Some of these issues, if left to persist, can lead to total generator failure. Generator maintenance also helps maximize your investment by ensuring that it’s able to operate better for longer.

Contact us today to learn more about our generator maintenance plans and the importance of keeping your generator in good working condition for when you need it most. We’re pleased to provide all-around generator service, from the initial installation to annual maintenance.

Generator FAQ

How Long Do Backup Generators Last?

Most backup or standby generators have a lifespan of 20 to 40 years with good upkeep. Typical maintenance includes testing the generator on a regular basis, looking for possible leaks, changing the oil, and confirming that the fuel connections are working correctly. Running the generator at least once a week will help to confirm that it still works in an emergency. With attentive care, you can get great output and security from the generator.

Do Backup Generators Add Value to a Home?

Real estate experts estimate that adding a backup generator to a property can increase the home’s value by 3 to 5 percent. It is important to distinguish a portable generator from a backup generator in this case. Backup generators have a permanent installation and are meant to work whenever the power goes out. They cost much more than portable models and usually manage a higher load.

How Do Backup Generators Work?

A backup generator is designed to burn fuel, creating energy that your home can use to power appliances, lighting, and more. Most of the time, you will use fuel like natural gas or propane. Backup generators may have a reservoir to hold fuel or a connection to a consistent fuel supply. When the switch detects a power outage, it automatically turns the home’s power to the generator. As such, you get the briefest interruption of power or none at all.

What Size Backup Generator Do I Need?

To figure out the best wattage for your backup generator, start by making a list of the most important circuits you use for power. For most people, the kitchen and HVAC systems take first priority. Add up the wattage used for each appliance and system. You can buy an inexpensive device to measure how much energy a tool uses if you are not sure. Multiply the total by at least 125 percent, so you can guarantee steady power even if everything runs at once.

To Whom It May Concern:
I first used Tidal Electric Services (TES) back on May 28, 2015, and was very pleased with the work they did for me. Keith replaced an electrical controller board on a generator that we had at the time. It was not installed by TDS back when the house was built in 2008.
It was not until August of 2020 did I called TES again because the generator was not coming on for its 10-minute weekly test cycle. TES’s Technician Trey and Luis his apprentice came out to find the generator’s starter had gone bad. Trey explained & showed me, how he came to this conclusion and that it may be wise to replace my current generator. Armando, the Project Manager came out to review the situation. I accepted the situation as explained and determined the need for a new generator.

Trey and Luis installed the new GENERAC generator on the first of September and I have been pleased with the unit ever since.

Trey was very helpful and explained each step during the process of determining the eventual solution to my problem. I would recommend Tidal Electric Services as the result of my first encounter with them back in 2015 and as the successful result of the generator problem in 2020.
Very professional and good communicator! I have agreed to their annual maintenance service which should keep my generator in good running order.
Very truly,
John Rivers
